Phalamedanda
Because of stones that look like iron, a hill in Parbat district is called Phalamedanda (iron hill) (2,350 m). From the hill, the Massif can be seen – from Dhaulagiri, Manapathi, Nilgiri, Annapurna to Machhapuchhe Himal. From the Malika temple there, one can explore Galeshwar Dham along with the mountains.
Located in Jaljala Rural Municipality-5, Phalamedanda is a cool hill station with few hotels. This area is home to the Pun community. Near the hill are Lopre, Kuwapani, Okhreni, Dandakateri and Banbadhe villages. Villagers engage in agriculture and animal husbandry. Potato Production is good there. They are culturally rich- they observe songs and dances like Sorathi, Yanimaya, Shirphule, Salaijo.
There are plans to build a view tower in Phalamedanda. Phalamedanda is located at a distance of 12 km northeast of Beni Bazaar. It takes 4 hours on foot to reach there from Beni. The motorway has reached till the hill.
On travelling downhill from the Karbakeli Than of the Karbakeli trail via Nagi Phalamedanda can be reached. From Karbakeli Than through Phalamedanda to Beni, this section has been named the ‘Phalame Hill Trek’.
फलामेडाँडा
फलाम जस्ता ढुँगा भएकाले पर्वत जिल्लाको एउटा डाँडालाई फलामेडाँडा (२,३५० मिटर) भनिन्छ । डाँडाबाट हिमालको लर्कन देखिन्छ– धौलागिरि, मानापाथी, निलगिरि, अन्नपूर्णदेखि माछापुच्छे« हिमालसम्म । त्यहाँको मालिका मन्दिरबाट हिमालसँगै गलेश्वरधाम अवलोकन गर्न सकिन्छ ।
जलजला गाउँपालिका–५ मा पर्ने फलामेडाँडा एउटा शितल हिलस्टेशन हो जहाँ केही होटल छन् । यो क्षेत्रमा पुन समुदायको बसोबास छ । डाँडासँग लोप्रे, कुवापानी, ओख्रेनी, डाँडाकटेरी र वनबढे गाउँ छन् । खेतीपाती र पशुपालनमा रमेका छन् गाउँले । आलु राम्रो उत्पादन हुन्छ । उनीहरु साँस्कृतिक रुपमा समृद्ध छन्–सोरठी, यानिमाया, शिरफुले, सालैजो भाकामा नाचगान गर्छन् ।
फलामे डाँडमा भ्यू टावर बनाउने योजना छ । बेनीबजारबाट उत्तर पूर्व १२ किमि दुरीमा पर्छ फलामे डाँडा । बेनीबाट त्यहाँसम्म हिँडेर जान ४ घन्टा लाग्छ । डाँडैसम्म मोटर बाटो पुगेको छ ।
करबाकेली पदमार्गको करबाकेली थानबाट नागी हुँदै फलामे डाँडा झर्न सकिन्छ । करबाकेली थानदेखि फलामेडाँडा हुँदै बेनीसम्मको यो खण्डलाई ‘फलामे हिल ट्रेक’ नामाकरण गरिएको छ ।
